As i mentioned earlier, I bought the Panasonic ES8243A after giving up on electric shavers 20 years ago! Basically, my girlfriend at the time ceased all romantic activities because of being scraped by my stubble. Needless to say, I switched to good old fashion blades at that point.

However, blades have their share of issues, too. Frankly, with the introduction of the ES8243A, Panasonic has eliminated all the issues involved with shaving.

The biggest issue I have with blades is how time consuming the shaves are. I got so disgusted, that I decided I would time how long it took for me to shave with a blade. It took, on average, 91/2 minutes!

That is ALOT of time for someone like me with a busy life. Once, about 6 months before I bought the Panasonic ES8243A, I even grew a beard! Well, the scraggly thing looked so bad that my wife threatened to leave if I didn't shave it off!

Incidentally, I also timed how long it took me to shave with the ES8243A. From start to finish, on a dry face, it took an average of 4 minutes! A wet shave took somewhat longer, at aproximately 6 minutes!

One of the reasons that the shaves are so fast, is that you seldom have to go over a spot more than once. I mean to tell you, the Panasonic ES8243A hugs the contours of your face and neck!

I decided to perform a little experiment, and see if my wife could tell the difference in my face after shaving with a blade, as opposed to shaving with the ES8243A. I expained the experiment to my wife, and she agreed to participate.

The test consisted of a kiss on my newly shaved cheek, and running the back of her hand over my chin. The experiment would consist of 2 different shaves over 2 days. She was not allowed to pick the smoothest shave, or shaving method, until testing both newly shaved surfaces.

When she announced the winner, a smile came over my smooth as silk face. Hands down, the smoothest shave was accomplished by the Panasonic ES8243A!
